What is cleanups.berlin?
Berlin has many active cleanup initiatives. Until now, finding an event meant searching across different channels: Instagram, websites, nebenan.de. cleanups.berlin brings all events together in one place. Initiatives enter their events once and gain reach in return. For flyers, Instagram or their own website, there is a ready-made profile page and a website building block. Initiatives that do not want to run their own website have a ready-made home with their profile page on cleanups.berlin. Initiatives document their actions on cleanups.berlin: amounts of litter collected, numbers of participants, photos. For the first time this creates an overall picture: how many people in Berlin clean up regularly and what they achieve together. Behind cleanups.berlin are Clemens and Dorian, two Berliners who take part in cleanup actions themselves. The project is non-profit and free of advertising.

Every participating initiative stays independent. cleanups.berlin increases their reach without interfering with how they work.
Open source
cleanups.berlin will be open source. After launch, the code will be publicly available. Other cities can take up the idea and adopt the model.
